A user experience for place-based narratives

The Map Tour app is ideal when you want to present a linear, place-based narrative featuring images or videos. Each “story point” in the narrative is geo-located. Users have the option of clicking sequentially through the narrative, or they can browse by interacting with the map or using the thumbnail carousel.

Examples of Map Tour stories

Our gallery of Map Tour stories shows that this popular app has been used for many purposes, perhaps most widespread among them are walking tours. The number of items or story points can vary; however beware, less than a dozen points can feel sparse, and more than about fifty can seem too long.
