Welcome to briefings
Briefings are a type of output in ArcGIS StoryMaps that is intended as a shorter-form storytelling option. They are ideal for presentations or other kinds of simple information sharing. Briefings are also meant to be mobile: With the briefings tablet app , you can bring briefings anywhere, and even configure them to be viewed without access to the Internet or cellular data.
Briefings consist of a sequence of slides that are clicked through, one at a time. Each slide can contain up to two content panels, which can consist either of text or of some form of media (images, videos, maps, embeds, or swipes).
If you're new to ArcGIS StoryMaps and would like to learn more about the parent product first, please visit the ArcGIS StoryMaps product page . Otherwise, if you're interested in learning how to put a briefing together, click through to the next slide to jump into an, ahem, brief tutorial!
Navigating briefings
If you've reached this slide, you've likely discovered the arrow buttons in the header that navigate forward and backward through a briefing, one slide at a time.
Another navigation option, though, is to use the table of contents, which is accessible via the button to the left of the arrows in the header. The contents will open in a panel to the left that contains the titles of each slide in the briefing; click on any slide title to immediately jump to that slide. You can keep the table of contents open to track your progress as you follow this tutorial, if you'd like.
Slides without titles will appear as "Slide [#]" in the contents by default; see slide 20 of this briefing for information on how to adjust the way slide titles appear in the table of contents.
