Landscapes and Layers

A Journey Through CHPL's Map Collections

The Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library's collection contains hundreds of maps and atlases. We offer online access to many  local  and  regional  maps on our  Digital Librar y. This exhibit provides an overview of our online collection and an introduction to using the most useful maps to genealogists and researchers of local history.

Then and Now

Maps are snapshots of the past. By comparing maps from different eras, we can peel back the layers of history and learn more about the landscapes we inhabit and those who came before us.
