Nurdle tracker Sri Lanka
Tracking the plastic pellets (nurdles) spilled from the MV X-Press Pearl along Sri Lanka's coastline.
On May 20th the MV Xpress Pearl caught fire off Sri Lanka's west coast. A few days later, plastic pellets or nurdles from the ship containers began washing up on our beaches.
This page is designed to help us track these nurdles as they move along our coastlines. The data gathered will enable us to focus our cleaning efforts but also verify particle tracking models that let us predict where they may go in the long-term.
