If land is identified as surplus by the agency that owns it, it is not categorized as committed because it may be sold off to accommodate new housing or jobs in the future.

*Notes: The net change in committed land is being overestimated by approximately 70 acres due to a change in data sources identifying right of ways. These areas are still classified as committed but because they are no longer considered to be right of ways, they are not being excluded from the maps and table as they were at the time of the 2012-2032 BLI. These estimates do not include the large amount of land committed to public use that is in the Government and Education and the Parks and Open Space plan designations.
