The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center provides guests with a truly unique experience. Historical artifacts and features are displayed in a picturesque, forested setting intertwined with trails. It is a place to relax, enjoy the wildlife, and learn about the region's past.

Autrey Mill provides 46 acres of recreational and educational space that includes:

Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center

The preserve is open to the public for recreational use from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. For Visitor Center and Farm Museum hours,  visit the Autrey Mill website  as hours may vary. The park entrance is accessible by turning northward from Old Alabama Road, near RiverPines Golf Course. Scroll down to take a walk through all that Autrey Mill has to offer!

Nature Trails

Over three miles of scenic nature trails undulate through the nature preserve. They connect the park's features and amenities, and provide ample space for peaceful recreation.

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center features a live animal exhibit with over 30 different species. For young children, there is the Living Lab, which provides them with a self-guided experience about the natural world.

Exploration Zones

The exploration zones provide children with the opportunity to learn about the natural environment in an interactive, outdoor setting.

Heritage Village

Several other historic structures exist at Autrey Mill, creating the Heritage Village. These include the Summerour House, the Program Barn, the Pole Barn, the Tenant Farm and the Green Country Store. Some of these buildings were moved to Autrey Mill from nearby locations in Johns Creek. These structures are used for a variety of events and activities while still retaining their historic charm and significance.

Picnic Pavilions

Three picnic pavilions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rental information is available on the  Autrey Mill website. 

Farm Museum

Visitors can tour this local museum and learn about the agricultural past of the Johns Creek area, dating back to the mid-1800s. Fascinating artifacts of many different sizes are on display. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed.

Amphitheater

The outdoor amphitheater is located near the gardens, and can accommodate up to 100 guests. Its surrounded by a mature forest, and is an optimal setting for ceremonies, gatherings and performances upon its large, wooden stage.

Heritage Gardens

The Heritage Gardens host a variety of plants and artistic touches, such as the Rock Art Snake, just a short walk from the Visitor Center.

Farm Animals and Butterfly Garden

Autrey Mill is home to a variety of friendly farm animals including goats, chickens, and rabbits. Visitors are welcome to feed some of the animals. Nearby, the butterfly garden offers a more gentle experience, and an example of how the community has come together to preserve our environment.

Old Warsaw Church

The Old Warsaw Church was moved to Autrey Mill in 2004 from its original location a few miles away. It has since been renovated extensively, and regularly hosts formal events and celebrations at a capacity of 68 guests.

Event and Rental Information

Autrey Mill hosts a variety of buildings and venues, each uniquely suited for events and celebrations, such as weddings, birthday parties or retreats.
