Assignment 3-4 Story Map by Jenna Beyer
Income versus educational attainment in Washington D.C.
Figure 1 shows a map of income and educational attainment in Washington D.C.
This story map contains two figures that describe the spatial and graphical relationship between income and educational attainment in Washington D.C. Figure 1 can be used interactively to show the spatial distribution between these two variables. Simply expand the map to zoom in and get a closer look at the area and the legend. From this map, it can be seen that populations with college degrees are concentrated in higher-income areas. Figure 2 shows these 2 variables plotted on a scatterplot. Although there are some outliers, it’s clear that there is a linear relationship between these 2 variables.
Figure 2 shows a scatterplot comparing the percentage of the population with a college degree against per capita income.
