Joshua Bowers

My story

I attend Kennesaw State University and am a pursuing biology degree with a certificate in Geographic Information systems (GIS) and joined a fraternity Kappa Alpha Order.

When I first began college at KSU I had a different concentration than I do now. I use to have a pre-med concentration but realized that pre-med was something really did not want to do so that is when I changed to the GIS certificate.

I am from Columbus Georgia where I was born and raised. I attended and graduated from Northside Highschool. While there I was apart of the wrestling team and climbed to compete at the state level my last two years. Along with wrestling golf was another sport I use to play.

For work I have held a couple of different jobs:

  • worked with a contractor
  • Mainscape
  • Olde Towne Bar and Grill
  • Preferred Sales and Associates (PSA)

Work with the Contractor: Here depending on the job it could range from replacing sheet rock, sanding and redoing wood floors, tile, trim building cabinets, etc. i was doing this job on and off for 4 years.

Mainscape: A landscaping company that is contracted out to cut housing on military bases across the country. I was working in Fort Benning for a summer.

Olde Towne Bar and Grill: A restaurant here in Kennesaw where I bar backed for 2 years. Job included stocking shipments and keeping the bar cleaned and in shape.

Preferred Sales and Associates (PSA): Company in Cartersville where I work in the warehouse. the company sells water heaters among other thing. I work with the water heaters where when an order come's out we go pull the order and if it calls to be converted than we open it up change the elements or phase depending on what is needed.

Hobbies:

Hunting and Fishing: I grew up in the woods this is something i go home to go do a good bit. This is something my whole family does and enjoys so its always a good time to go and spend time with the family.

Going out: love spending time with my buddies going out to different places like Woodstock, Roswell, Acworth, and here in Kennesaw.

Football: I am a die hard Alabama fan so any chance i get to go to Tuscaloosa for the game I am there! Roll Tide!

Traveling: Whether its with my family or friend's going to the beach, the mountains, New Orleans, or across the country to Vegas i think its cool seeing other places and getting to see cool sites.

Golf: Another past time activity that is always an adventure filled with excitement between family and friends.

Gym: I think it is important to stay in shape for health and everyday life. it keeps my active and feeling good.
