Community Imagery
Esri Community Maps
Community Imagery uses the best available data from both commercial and community sources to produce comprehensive imagery layers of the world.
By clicking on this map, you can determine if your imagery will improve our services. Compare it to our current imagery for your area of interest.
Imagery Contribution Formats
Cached Imagery
Cache format must be JPG (not MIXED), with the compression quality set to 75.0.
Imagery must be cached in the WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxillary_Sphere map projection.
In addition to cache, provide polygon feature classes with the extent of imagery footprints (with metadata) and your authoritative boundary (AOI).
Caches should at a minimum include Levels 14-19 (1:36K - 1:1K), but can include down to Level22 (1:141) based on the resolution of your imagery. These are the scale levels currently displayed in our imagery layers for contributed imagery.
Un-Cached Imagery
TIF files are the preferred format. JPG, ECW, and SID files may also be submitted.
All images must edge match or overlap beyond your authoritative boundary. Overlap is preferred to avoid artifacts when blending into our imagery source.
Avoid white or black edges around the imagery.
