Halyburton Park is an oasis for visitors who crave a little peace and quiet.

Located just Southeast of Wilmington's historic Downtown and midtown, conveniently located off of South 17th Street.

The preserve is a quiet spot in a growing city, with a 60 acre tract of land that is 70% undeveloped.

The majority of the preserve consists of gently rolling sandhills, a unique habitat found in Coastal Carolina.

Filled with gorgeous landscapes, shaded by old growth long leaf pines

this park makes visitors appreciate the natural and peaceful side of Wilmington.

Circling the perimeter of the park is a handicapped-accessible 1.3 mile hiking and biking trail.

There are plenty of side trails along the way to explore.

The Green Trail, Blue Trail, and Red Trail, wind through the heart of the Halyburton Park Nature Preserve.

Offering many different habitats.

Along the trail, visitors will find a scenic pond overlook and sand hills, with many species of birds,

aquatic creatures,

insects,

and other wildlife.

Halyburton has a 2 picnic shelters, with grills and tables, for relaxing outings.

2 traditional playgrounds,

and an ADA playground.

The Events and Visitors' Center offers a wide variety of classes, programs, and events.

The education center offers classes for school groups, Pre K thru 5th grade, on a variety of topics.

for families and school groups,

Including Reptiles and Amphibians,

Pond Life, Birding, and many more.

Visitors and residents can sign up for yoga, Pilates, and other fitness classes, which are offered regularly in the great outdoors.

The events center can host special events, inside the ballroom

outside, in a beautiful natural setting.

Even those very special life moments.

Halyburton Park offers many amenities, for visitors, and bikers riding on the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail, which runs thru the park.

Including an animal water fountain, as dogs are welcome on the CCT.
