Dubai - Seattle...

By way of the North Pole !
How cool is that??
Why do we come home via the North Pole? Because the world is round and airlines take the shortest path (also known as a 'great arc'). Turns out that on a round earth (as opposed to a flat screen or map, which is what we're more used to looking at) the shortest path from Dubai to Seattle is almost directly over the North Pole. And we'll be going over mid-day (not that it matters, at that time of year the North Pole still has almost 24 hours a day of daylight).
Heading: 0 Degrees ( ! )
