2023 Racing Season

We're excited to dive into the racing events planned for this year where we will challenge ourselves to run faster at familiar tracks, while also expanding our footprint to a new track we're excited to explore. We race as a part of the Vintage Sport Car Drivers Association who put together fantastic events allowing our old little vehicles to fulfill their purpose by driving as fast as they can around with other old little cars. Visit their website for additional details and events hosted by the VSCDA.

GingerMan Spring Brake
May 6th & 7th
We were excited to kick off the season at VSCDA's Spring Brake at GingerMan Raceway just east of South Haven Michigan. Many friends, family and crew members joined us as Ellie raced her bug-eyed sprite. She set her fastest lap times at this track yet, and climbed the rankings to take 4th in both the Spridget Feature Race ( results ) and the Group E feature race ( results ).
We raced in the rain and shine, gathering under our tent to stay dry on Saturday when the surprise rain rolled in.
During the week leading up to the weekend, our weather apps promised us perfect conditions - dry and in the 70's all weekend. Someone messed up the chicken sacrifice to the weather fairies, so a few storms gathered and dumped water on us Saturday morning and early afternoon and left us with a wet track for the first race on Sunday. It was a perfect opportunity to play in conditions with a little less traction, with dryer conditions for the last couple of sessions on both Saturday and Sunday.
The sunday Spridget race and Feature race were dry, with exciting starts, passes and finishes.

Blackhawk Classic XXXI
June 16th - 18th
We're in the midst of prepping for the Blackhawk Classic, where both Ellie and Brian will be racing and competing in the same race group.
Come join us for a weekend of fast cars, a little bit of wrenching and a whole lot of fun and good people! Let us know if you're coming by. We love spectators, and would love if you joined us in our paddock between sessions.

Just 90 minutes from Chicago, BFR is a great track to visit and hang out at. Bring earmuffs for the kids and some sunscreen and have a great time! Check the event web page here for details on touring laps if you want to drive your sporty daily driver around during lunch time on days it's available.
Cars are organized into groups based on displacement, age and other factors so similar cars compete. Both Ellie and Brian will be racing in Group D for this event.
Grattan Grand Prix
August 11th-13th
Come join us for the most exciting summer party! Camping at the track is always a blast, with good food, good people and GREAT racing!
Ozarks International Raceway
October 13th-15th
Ozarks International Raceway is a 3.97 miles state-of-the-art facility at the heart of the Ozarks. The Missouri-based international track has several layouts, but the longest configuration truly shows what this facility is about with its 19 thrilling corners and a 150 feet elevation difference throughout the lap and 1200 feet elevation change over a single lap.
