San Diego River Bikeway

Start on the San Diego River Bikeway and do an ABC check before you ride off:

A-Check that you have enough air in your tires. They should be firm when you squeeze.

B- Make sure all your breaks work properly.

C- Give you bike a quick pedal to make sure the chain is on and it's rotating around smoothly. Feel it to see if it is adequately lubed. It should feel smooth and look clean and shiny.

Quick- Make sure the wheels are properly secured (quick releases are closed, or axle nuts are tight)

Check- Give the bike a shake and rattle to be sure that nothing is loose!

Dog Beach

Spot a dog playing fetch at dog beach!

The bike path is closed beyond the beach so walk your bike down to the parking area to get back onto the route.

Did you know that when you're on a bicycle you're considered a vehicle? Use your hands to signal, stop at all stop signs and ride only as far right as is "practicable" (not possible).

Beach Volleyball

Lock your bike and take a walk to the ocean to dip your toes in!

Before you go...practice locking your bike properly to the nearby bike racks. Make sure you lock the frame and the rear wheel, or both wheels.
