I like New York City because there are so many diverse cultures that come together and bring their own traditions to the city, which makes the city so unique. For example food. People from all around the world bring all kinds of unique dishes to the city. Even though I have personally never been there I want to go because of the attractions. Things like museums, parks, and restaurants make me want to go to the city because those things make the city so special.

Food of New York City

New York is a city of immigrants. And the dishes that have become associated with it are largely related to immigration patterns. It's no surprise that bagels, pastrami, and hot dogs are deeply connected with NYC also due to everyone bringing a piece of their culture when moving there.

When you think of New York City, a million things come to mind like architecture, pizza, and an endless sea of yellow taxi cabs. But, what's behind the New York bagel? Why is it so popular in The Big Apple? According to Vogue it all really comes down to technique. Many bakers are unwilling to reveal the secrets of their recipes, but one commonly- known aspect of the process involves leaving the dough in the fridge for a number of days before rolling it out into its famous shape.

When it comes to New York-style cheesecake, heavy cream or sour cream is added to the mixture to create a denser smoother, and creamier cheesecake to make the famous dessert. Many bakers also use spring-form pans for even high-temperature baking to create a nice attractive golden brown crust. Once the cheesecake browns, the temperature is lowered to finish.
