Community Canopy Planting Plan

Between April-July 2024, we asked the community their thoughts on trees and their locations during activities, including:

• Pop-up events at the Chandler Mowat Community Centre
• Flyer drop-offs through our door-to-door campaign to residents
• Online survey
• Plant a Pin mapping exercise

The planting plan below shows where new trees will be planted to increase the tree canopy in response to community feedback.

Which areas of potential planting should be prioritized in the next few years? Please answer our 2 minute survey. We will be accepting new responses until Oct 1st, 2024.

Come to our community event at Laurentian Park on October 10th, 2024 from 3-5pm. We would like to thank everyone for participating in this pilot project with crafts, refreshments and tree activities.

We are happy to be planting over 30 large trees in this park, with more to come to increase the tree canopy in this neighbourhood. We hope to see you there!
