Our town center

Kyrksæterøra is home to Alti Heim, a popular shopping center that features around 15 shops, including a pharmacy, a restaurant, and a grocery store. With over 130 free parking spaces and charging stations, Alti Heim is a key point of interest in the community. You can also take a stroll down Øragata and sample a delicous treat from our local bakery or visit the library and cinema.
Surrounding the town center you will also find several larger villages and businesses within a short drive.

Sustainability
Sustainability efforts focusing on climate, equality, and diversity are integral to Heim’s business sector. Good examples of these types of environmental measures are promoting the use of durable materials in construction and producing biogas for the transport industry. Many businesses in Heim are certified as sustainable by Norway’s national program for environmental certification ( Miljøfyrtårn ) which is recognized by the EU and EEA .

Heim municipality offers both day and evening classes in Norwegian at our newly renovated adult education center. The education center, located in the municipality center Kyrksæterøra, provides a welcoming and supportive environment where you can thrive together with other international students from both Europe and abroad.
Our experienced language teachers will take the time to get to know you and tailor an instruction plan based on your background and education.
Migrant employees in Norway can enroll at the Adult Learning Center for a fee, but if you are recruited to Heim through Emigration Expo in the Netherlands, Heim kommune may offer you six months (300 hours) of language and cultural classes at no cost. This is because Heim kommune holds your decision to move to our municipality in high regard!

Travel to Heim
Trondheim airport (Værnes) offers direct flights to several europoean destinations and is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes by car from Heim’s municipal center, Kyrksæterøra. Travel time to Trondheim city center is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
It is also possible to travel to Heim by buss with several departures daily to and from neighboring towns and Trondheim city center.
