NEW! Markets that accept SNAP and participate in Double Bucks are noted in the market description. SNAP users get tokens in place of cash for purchases at farmers markets. SNAP users do not need to enroll for Double Bucks – just bring your EBT card to participating markets. Double Bucks helps you bring home affordable, healthy food by matching your SNAP dollars spent at participating farmers markets.

In partnership with North Carolina, Mecklenburg County is participating in the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP). Eligible seniors can receive a $50 voucher per season to purchase produce. Markets that accept SFMNP vouchers are noted in the market description.

 Farmers Markets  Information on the SNAP/EBT and Double-Up Bucks programs, available at some participating Farmers Markets, in on the site. The schedule for the ​The Bulb Mobile Market, not mapped here, is also available. Individuals 60 and older and individuals with disabilities may qualify for low-cost transportation ($1.50 per person each way) to and from the farmers markets.  Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program  The North Carolina Seniors Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is a summer-only program that provides vouchers to eligible older adults to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, and fresh cut herbs from certified locations. These are a few examples of organizations in Mecklenburg County providing food assistance to those who need it. While this is not a comprehensive list of all food assistance programs in the county, they provide resources to additional food outlets across Mecklenburg County.

 Edible Landscapes  Edible Landscapes is an award-winning program through Mecklenburg County Public Health that establishes community gardens and orchards to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to communities who need it. The department works to install them through partnerships with community and faith-based organizations positioned in food insecure neighborhoods.
