Cummins Highway

Southbound, American Legion opens from one lane to two lanes and one left turn lane at Cummins Highway. Northbound, the lanes from Cummins merge to one lane by Stella Road.

The southbound  separated bike lane  goes as far as Legion Place. It continues to the intersection as a bike lane. Northbound, we provide a separated bike lane.

We provide parking on both sides of American Legion north of Stella Road. A  buffer  will be placed between the parking lane and the bike lane.

At bus stops, buses merge into the bike lane to pick up or drop off passengers.

Mt. Hope Street

We're adding pedestrian protection islands on American Legion at the Mt. Hope intersection. At this time, we are using temporary materials to create these.

Going south, we are keeping two through vehicle lanes and one left turn lane approaching the signal at Mt Hope Street. South of the signal, the vehicular lanes will merge into one. Going north, there are two vehicle lanes.

Northbound, there will be time-restricted parking to the curb cut at 750 American Legion. The new regulations will be No parking between 7-10 AM and 3-8 PM accommodate additional traffic volumes during peak travel hours.

Separate bike lanes are provided in both directions.

At bus stops, buses merge into the bike lane to pick up or drop off passengers.

Canterbury Street and American Legion Shopping Center

There are two travel lanes in each direction between Canterbury Street and Mt. Hope Street. A left turn lane is provided for northbound lefts onto Canterbury Street.

For safety, we are closing the median just south of Canterbury Street. Right turns in and right turns out will be allowed. Otherwise, drivers will use the signalized intersection near Dunkin'.

North of Canterbury Street, we maintain on-street parking in the northbound direction.

Separated bike lanes are provided in both directions.

At bus stops, buses merge into the bike lane to pick up or drop off passengers.

Walk Hill Street

There are two through vehicle lanes and a left turn lane approaching the signal at Walk Hill Street from both directions. Northbound vehicle lanes merge into one lane north of the Walk Hill Street intersection.

Parking on the northbound side in front the Haley Pilot School will be restricted to 15 minutes from 7-8 AM and 3-4 PM. 

Separated bike lanes are provided in both directions.

At bus stops, buses merge into the bike lane to pick up or drop off passengers.

Walk Hill Street to Morton Street

Between Walk Hill Street and Kingbird Street, American Legion has one travel lane in each direction. This helps to control vehicle speeds in this stretch. At the approaches to signalized intersections, we provide more lanes.

Morton Street

Drivers can still get to Morton Street via the ramp.

Separated bike lanes are provided in both directions.

Canterbury Street and Kingbird Street

At the intersection, two through lanes and turn lanes are provided. Southbound, the two through lanes merge into one lane. Northbound, we retain two travel lanes.

Separated bike lanes are provided in both directions. Southbound of Canterbury Street, the bike lane is not physically separated for 150 feet.

At bus stops, buses merge into the bike lane to pick up or drop off passengers.

Franklin Hill Avenue

There are two lanes in both directions south of Franklin Hill Avenue. Southbound, the single travel lane opens up to two lanes and a turn lane at Franklin Hill Avenue is retained. There are no changes in the northbound direction between Franklin Hill Avenue and Blue Hill Avenue.

We are adding five accessible parking spaces on the southbound side near the Circuit Drive entrance to Franklin Park. Additional parking will be allowed north of the accessible spaces. Parking is unchanged north of Franklin Hill Avenue.

Northbound bicyclists should cross the intersection using the  two-stage turn box . They continue north using a two-way separated bike lane. This lane brings them into Franklin Park at Circuit Drive.

Blue Hill Avenue

Vehicles merge into a single lane south of Blue Hill Ave. There are no changes on the northbound side between Franklin Hill Ave and Blue Hill Ave.

A separated bike lane is provided in the southbound direction.
