Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department
Overview
The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department maintains and manages almost 2,000 acres of land in 29 park areas. Facilities located throughout the City parks include a state of the art aquatic center, pavilion/lodge, and skateboard park, as well as athletic fields, trails, tennis/basketball/volleyball courts, playground structures/areas, skating rinks/ponds, and many miles of hard surfaced pathways and nature trails.
Park Rules
- Motorized vehicles are allowed on designated drives and parking areas only
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed in parks except by permit and reservation
- Dogs and other animals are permitted only on parking lots and paved walks and must be leashed (Exception: Dogs on leashes may be walked on grass areas at Mary Knoll Park and will be permitted on-leash or off-leash with owner in the designated Dog Exercise Area at Mitchell Park). Beverly Hills Park is a 28 acre developed neighborhood park located in the northwestern portion of the City. The site encompasses wetlands within an isolated natural resource area and was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1954 as part of the plat for the Beverly Hills subdivision.

Brookfield Manor Park
Brookfield Manor Park is a 31 acre undeveloped special use/neighborhood park located in the central/southern portion of the City. The site encompasses wetlands within a portion of the primary environmental corridor along Deer Creek and was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1985 as part of the plat for the Brookfield Manor subdivision.

Camelot Park is a 36 acre developed neighborhood park located in the western portion of the City. Land for the park was dedicated to the City in 1976 (8 acres), 1986 (8 acres), and 1990/97 (20 acres) as part of the subdivision plats for the Camelot Meadows, Bartlett Manor, and Chadwick Greens subdivisions. The site also encompasses a woodland and wetlands within an isolated natural resources area.

Canterbury Hills Park
Canterbury Park is a 8 acre developed neighborhood park/regional playfield located in the western portion of the City. The site was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1978 as part of the plat for the Canterbury Hills subdivision.

Cardinal Park
Cardinal Park is a 17 acre undeveloped park site located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site also encompasses woodlands and wetlands within an isolated natural resources area.

Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum
The Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum historic park, acquired in 1979, is located in the central portion of the City and also encompasses wetlands within the primary environmental corridor along Dousman Ditch. The Dousman-Dunkel-Behling Inn, a historic structure once located in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Pilgrim Parkway and Bluemound Road, is located at the site. The Museum and related buildings/facilities on the site are managed and operated by the Elmbrook Historical Society .

Endicott Park
Endicott Park is a 48 acre developed district park located in the south/central portion of the City. The majority of the land for the park was purchased from the Elmbrook School District in 2000 with expansion occurring in 2005 and 2009 with the acquisition of an additional 21 acres. The site also encompasses wetlands within a secondary environmental corridor.

Fairview Park
Fairview Park is an 8 acre neighborhood park located in the north/central portion of the City. The land for the park was purchased in 1992 from the Elmbrook School District. Fire Station #2, constructed in 2009, has been integrated into the overall park site.

Hidden Lake Park
Hidden Lake Park is a neighborhood park located in the east central portion of the City on Lilly Road. The site was dedicated to the City as part of the Hidden Lake multi-family residential development. This 13 acre park includes a play structure, open air shelter, playfield, small parking area, walking trails with access to a viewing deck at the shoreline of a private lake and connects to the Hidden Lake Trail segment of the Greenway Trail System .
Hidden Lake Trail
The trail begins at the intersection of 131st Street and Center Street with overlooks of Hidden Lake and continues to Hidden Lake Park. The 2,400’ paved segment of the Greenway Trail System is located within an easement on private property owned by Hidden Lake Conservancy, Inc. Trail users should stay within the easement on the paved path only. We encourage you to enjoy the views of Hidden Lake and inform you that the lake and surrounding land is private property. Please do not trespass beyond the path.

Imperial Park
Imperial Park is a 13 acre partially developed neighborhood park located in the northcentral part of the City. The City completed a lease agreement with the Elmbrook School District in 2009 for the development and use of approximately 5-6 acres of the total 13 acre site owned by the EBSD as a neighborhood park.

Indian Heights Park
Indian Heights Park is a 3 acre open space site located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site was dedicated to the City for park and open space use in 1966 as part of the plat for the Indian Heights subdivision.
Kinsey Park
Kinsey Park is a 6 acre neighborhood park located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site also encompasses woodlands within an isolated natural area and was dedicated to the City for parkland as part of the plat of the Kinsey Park subdivision.

Krueger Park
Krueger Park is a developed 51 acre district park located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site also encompasses wetlands within the primary environmental corridor along the south branch of Underwood Creek.

Lamplighter Park is a 9 acre developed neighborhood park located in the northeastern portion of the City. The site was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1975 as part of the plat for Lamplighter Park subdivision.

Lilly Heights Park
Lilly Heights Park is a 42 acre developed district park located in the northeastern portion of the City. The site also encompasses wetlands within the primary environmental corridor along Butler Ditch. Most of the land (29 acres) was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1980 as part of the Lilly Heights subdivision development.

Mary Knoll Park
Mary Knoll Park is a 20 acre partially developed district park located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site also encompasses woodlands within an isolated natural resource area.

McCoy Park/Field is a 19 acre developed regional playfield located in the west/central portion of the City. The site also encompasses wetlands within the primary environmental corridor along the Fox River.

Meadows of Brookfield Park
Meadows of Brookfield Park is a 6 acre developed neighborhood park located in the southeastern portion of the City. The site was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1978 as part of the plat for the Meadows of Brookfield subdivision.

Mitchell Park
Mitchell Park, located in the northwestern portion of the City, is named after the second Mayor and is considered to be the “future gem” of the park system. The land for the park has been acquired through several parcel acquisitions over the past 20 years, beginning in 1979, to provide a major community park for this rapidly growing area of the City.
The Park is a 405± acre partially developed site, comprised of approximately 90 acres of upland suitable for active park facility development, and the remaining acreage encompasses a variety of wetland, woodland, and surface water resources within the primary environmental corridor along the main stem of the Fox River.
Development of the park has occurred in several phases over the years in response to community needs and demands consistent with the master development plan approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission and Common Council. The present site development includes the outdoor recreational and/or support facilities as indicated below.
The park also includes a major trailhead and connection to the City’s Greenway Trail System and the Waukesha County Fox River Trail is proposed to traverse through the park.

Mound Zion Park
Mound Zion Park is a 49 acre partially developed special community park located in the central portion of the City. The park includes a portion of Zion Woods, a 55-acre natural area of countywide or regional significance.

Rolling Meadows Park is a 63 acre partially developed Neighborhood Park located in the central portion of the City and encompasses wetlands within a primary environmental corridor.

Ruby Park

Three Meadows Park
Three Meadows Park is a 6 acre developed neighborhood park located in the northern portion of the City. The site was dedicated to the City for parkland in 1987 as part of the plat for the Three Meadows subdivision.

Voigt Soccer Park
The Voigt Soccer Park is a 51 acre special park/regional playfield located in the northwestern portion of the City. The site also encompasses wetlands within the primarily environmental corridor along the Fox River. The park is managed and operated by Elmbrook United under a lease agreement with the City.

Weston Hills Park is a 23 acre developed neighborhood park located in the southwestern portion of the City. Wirth Park
Franklin Wirth Park, centrally located in Brookfield, is considered by many residents as “my most favorite place to be” in the City. The 135 acre site was acquired in 1961 and named after the first and long time Mayor of the City.
The park is comprised of approximately 96 acres of upland suitable for active park facility development, and the remaining acreage encompasses a variety of wetland, woodland and surface water resources within the Underwood Creek primary environmental corridor.
Wirth Park is a fully developed community park with a community-wide service area providing a variety of natural resource and non-resource oriented facilities and is the premier park for the City of Brookfield offering residents a diverse array of active and passive outdoor recreational opportunities. The park facilities are utilized by the community on a daily basis with well over 100,000 visitations annually.

Brookfield Jaycees Skatepark - Wirth Park
Officially opened in the Fall 2003, the Brookfield Jaycees Skatepark is an approximately 12,000 square foot, poured in place, concrete facility featuring pyramids, ramps, spines, transitions, a fun box and more. The facility is not supervised and is open to skateboarders and inline skaters only. Users are strongly encouraged to wear appropriate safety gear when using the facility.
Mitchell Park Pavilion
The Mitchell Park Pavilion was officially dedicated on July 4, 2002 and has been enjoyed by many residents over the past years, receiving rave reviews. The facility has indoor and outdoor seating, and is perfect for a variety of functions. The indoor lodge area includes a fireplace, air conditioning as well as heat, restrooms, and a serving kitchen with sink and refrigerator. The indoor area seats up to 60 people and is available year round. There are two outdoor shelters adjacent to the lodge, and they can be rented separately or in conjunction with the indoor portion. Minimum and maximum group sizes do apply.
Senior Community Center
The Brookfield Senior Community Center offers a variety of leisure and recreational opportunities to all area senior citizens. Whether you’re looking for entertainment, educational or social opportunities, you’re sure to find something of interest at our Center.
A few of the ongoing activities include travel movies, Sheepshead, line dancing, Mah Jongg and Bridge. Instructional programs such as drawing class, exercise, and watercolor are also available. Other groups that meet at the Center and encourage participation are the Quilting Angels, Fun Luv’n Grannies, and Broadway Wannabes.
