A Review of the 2014-2017 Global Coral Bleaching Event

NOAA Coral Reef Watch

Coral Reef Watch

The NOAA Coral Reef Watch (CRW) program uses  satellite data  to remotely monitor global coral reefs to identify areas at risk of  coral bleaching . CRW also offers a modeled  Outlook  that predicts the likelihood of coral bleaching heat stress on a week-by-week basis, up to four months in the future. To learn more about CRW, go to its  website .

THANK YOU: Special thanks to the NOAA  CO-OPS  GIS Team, NOAA's National Ocean Service, the NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program, and The Ocean Agency/XL Catlin Seaview Survey and the Coral Reef Image Bank.

Additionally, sincere thanks to Rachel Krasna for her work to develop this Story Map during her NOAA Rotational Assignment Program opportunity with Coral Reef Watch.
