Stop 2 Kamloops Locations

In Stop 2 Kamloops, you will be exploring three locations:

  1. Moly-Cop Canada
  2. New Afton Mine
  3. Progressive Planet Inc.

Continue scrolling down to find out more about the different locations.

Moly-Cop Canada

The Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) noted that out of all the municipalities in B.C, Kamloops has the greatest number of active vendors supplying B.C. mines.

Approximately 390 suppliers in B.C. benefit from nearly $219 million in spending from mines.

One such supplier with a global presence has its Canadian headquarters located in Kamloops; this supplier is Moly-Cop!

Learn about how Moly-Cop supplies mines in B.C. in the Mining Monthly article below.

New Afton Mine

One of the mines in Kamloops that may use supplies from Moly-Cop is the New Afton Mine! The New Afton Mine is an underground mine located 10 km west of Kamloops and produces copper, silver, and gold.

This mine uses a special, new underground mining technique and is the only mine in Canada and B.C. to use this method.

Learn more about the New Afton Mine and the special mining technique on the MineralsEd page below.

Progressive Planet Inc.

What does mining have to do with cats? Well, a product we have in our homes for our furry friends is mined and processed in Kamloops. Progressive Planet mines for industrial minerals that are used in cat litter and odor control for barn animals!

Learn about what industrial mineral is used in cat litter and why in the Progressive Planet Inc. pages below.
