Red Electrica Ecological Subsea Cable Protection

Ecological concrete cable protection was deployed between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Red Eléctrica, the Spanish electricity grid operator, and ECOncrete have documented the environmental benefits of this innovative solution through a  case study .

Ecological Marine Mattress Subsea Cable Protection:

The  Vineyard Wind  project developer received the approvals from regulators to install ECOncrete ecological cable protection, since traditional concrete marine mattresses were forbidden due to the ecologically sensitive habitat areas.

Cable Protection in Fort Salonga, Long Island, USA

The objective was to protect the energy supply transmitted between Long Island and Connecticut while building-in environmental benefits. By using ECOncrete's articulated concrete block mattresses, the project was able to secure the utilities while protecting the Long Island seabed and benthic habitat.

Scour Protection Pilot in Long Island, NY

ECOncrete's Droplock Ecological Scour Protection was deployed 12 miles off the shore of Long Island, NY in coordination with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The design optimizes habitat creation, while also minimizing the overall project footprint. Reducing the foundation’s scour protection footprint leads to significant savings on deployment costs and energy.
