Devastation of California Wildfires

Explore two of the worst wildfires in the last decade.

Camp Fire

The Camp fire devastated the city of paradise, California and turned it from a decently sized city with a population of 26,000 to a town with a population of around 10,000 people. Paradise, along with another city, Concow, lost almost 95% of the structures. The camp fire is also confirmed to have killed at least 81 people.


August Complex Fire

The August Complex fire started in August of 2020 where for the next 4 months, one of the most destructive wildfires swept through California. The fire started from a lightning strike and burned 1,032,600 acres, which is the largest fire in California history. This fire displaced thousands of people and burned hundreds of structures.
