Janesville, Wisconsin
Empowering Community & Environmental Action
About Us
As the greater Janesville area continues to innovate and grow, the City of Janesville is committed to adapting to the evolving needs of its 66,311 residents and fostering a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive community for all. In response to the community's desire to revitalize the area, the City of Janesville wants to include its citizens in future redevelopment planning to ensure a prosperous future for its residents for generations to come. The City will be implementing tools to incorporate community feedback into its redevelopment discussions to help achieve these goals and create a brighter future for its residents. One example is the GreenPrint: Janesville initiative, a key component of our larger redevelopment strategy, and includes the Community Change Grant (CCG) project, the goal of which is to secure funding for future redevelopment efforts. The CCG is more than just a project; it is the first significant step toward addressing the community's sustainability concerns and the beginning of a long road to meaningful change. Explore this site to learn more about how you can get involved through our Community Feedback Sessions.
Our Board
The City has established the GREEN (Growth-Revitalization-Environment-Equity-Neighborhood) Janesville Board. This partnership brings together stakeholders from across the community to address concerns surrounding the future redevelopment of the former GM/JATCO Site. The board will play a critical role in fostering collaboration and ensuring that the redevelopment efforts reflect the values and priorities of the Janesville community.
Committee
GreenPrint: Janesville represents the city's commitment to listening to its residents and implementing solutions that align with its vision for a brighter, more sustainable future. As part of this initiative, the GreenPrint Committee will guide the innovative projects and partnerships that will help transform the area into a vibrant hub of activity and opportunity.

GreenPrint:Janesville
The City of Janesville has a unique opportunity to advance environmental justice through its GreenPrint: Janesville initiative. As we work to increase our resilience through climate action, reduce local pollution to improve public health, and build community strength through meaningful engagement, we can also improve our residents' quality of life by creating equitable access to a sustainable living environment where everyone can thrive. The images below illustrate both the 3-year and 20-year Plans under GreenPrint: Janesville.
Community Change Grant
Overview
