Conclusion
Hong Kong faces a severe ageing population problem, with an increasing number of elderly in different districts.
Kwun Tong has the greatest percentage of elderly, according to the 2021 population census, and as a result, the area has a strong demand for recreational facilities. Conclusion
After overlay, nevertheless, a large number of areas—mostly found along Kwun Tong's edge—have limited access (over 300m of walking) to recreational areas.
However, a number of residential buildings can be found in these difficult-to-access areas, which highlights the issue of inadequate of community facilities for elderly
Suggestions
The aging problem is ongoing, and the proportion of senior people will continue to rise. The well-being of the old should not be disregarded, and the availability and accessibility to recreational grounds are vital in ensuring the elderly's physical and mental health.
As a result, the government should be aware of the issue and expand the quantity and quality of recreational facilities in each district.
