Spencer Mountain

Enjoy over 3 miles of trails around and up to the top of the mountain! These trails include a multiuse 1-mile base loop trail, a 1-mile trail to the summit for hikers and people with mobility limitations, and a dedicated cyclist route up Tower Access Drive.

Skyline Overlook

Once you reach the top of Spencer Mountain you will enjoy a pocket park offering dramatic views of the Charlotte Skyline.

George Poston Park

The trail will travel through Gaston County's George Poston Park, connecting park facilities and over 10 miles of existing trails on the property together.

Future Riverfront Park

The MBSFRC will travel through a future City of Lowell riverfront park with access to the South Fork River.

Pharr Yarns Family Trail

Enjoy over two miles of existing natural surface trail that follows the beautiful South Fork of the Catawba River. From the Catawba Riverkeeper Boathouse trailhead area continue your journey on a short paved greenway to easily reach downtown McAdenville.

Downtown McAdenville

McAdenville is a quaint town with a bounty of opportunities for you to explore. From local restaurants and tap rooms to parks and music venues, this town has a little something for everyone.

River Link Greenway Extension

The Town of McAdenville and the Town of Cramerton are working alongside the Carolina Thread Trail to fill this gap.

Have a passion for mountain biking? Visit Rocky Branch Park! One mile of Carolina Thread Trail connects multiple mountain biking loop trails managed by the Tarheel Trailblazers.

Developer Led Trails

Many new trails in this area between downtown Cramerton and South New Hope Road are being implemented as a part of new development. Most of these trails will be paved greenways.

Gaston County is working to develop a new 500-acre county park, which will include a 2-mile segment of Carolina Thread Trail.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden

The nearly 400 acres of the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens offer visitors a chance to connect with nature in all seasons. Check out their new trails and the 30 acres of gardens on display.

Into South Carolina

The trail will cross Lake Wylie to meet existing sidewalk that extends to the community of Lake Wylie and beyond.
