Valuing nature is important not only for the economic services it provides but also for its own sake. Nature is our home, our provider, and it's also the best source of beauty, innovation and inspiration, indeed of everything that is good about life. 

 "'Hope' is the thing with feathers,"  the title of Emily Dickinson's poem of the same name, perfectly exemplifies why protecting birds and nature is critical at this moment in time.
