‘We Don’t Want War’
Leaders and everyday citizens in central Mali seek solutions to tribal and political conflict that has disrupted their lives.

Mopti lies at the intersection of the Niger and Bani rivers in central Mali and serves as the capital of the region that shares its name.
The region was once popular with tourists, who came to see its mosques, enjoy a river cruise, or visit the villages embedded in the cliffs of Dogon country, named for the tribe that built the villages.
But in 2012, a civil war between the north and south scared away tourists.
