Map It Out
AN EAR FOR STORYTELLING
We listen to what you want to say, so we can help you map it out to capture the attention of your audience.
AN EYE FOR DETAIL
We know that detail is important, and our bespoke geospatial services deliver data visualisations and maps that reflect this.
A LOVE OF DATA
We’ll help you decode your data so you can decide what’s important for your message, as well as the best way to present it.
WHAT WE DO
We create maps and data visualisations using geographic information.
Map Design
From traditional maps simply showing your location to immersive, interactive story and web mapping that takes people on a journey through your data, our design services deliver visually-appealling, practical maps for a wide range of uses. Our expertise in tailoring data analysis to your needs means we can present the results in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.
Data visualisation and integration
Our key strength is in analysing large datasets, extracting relevant information and presenting it using clear, concise visualisations. We can integrate data from a wide variety of sources, including historic maps and data, topographic data, environmental data, demographic and socio-economic data to provide in-depth analysis for detailed site-based work, national or international projects.
Accessible GIS
Be better informed and make better decisions using an accessible GIS system. We create online dashboards to help you make sense of your data, delivering the information you need quickly and easily using location to provide context and clarity.
Visibility Assessments
Using a Zone of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV) analysis, we can accurately determine the visual impact of a proposed development on the surrounding landscape. Whether it’s a building, windfarm or other structure, identifying the areas from which it will be visible is important for a range of planning activities.
Historic Mapping
Conservation Management Plans (CMP) often need to show how an area has transformed over time. We can identify and geo-reference historic maps so you can see the changes, compare time periods and work out how best to preserve places of interest.

The story map is beautifully tailored to our priorities and tells a compelling story about County Durham. The engaging, interactive format helps us communicate local data to a broad spectrum of partners.

We have used Map It Out Ltd. quite regularly over the past few years. Every time, Helen has come up trumps, understanding quickly what was needed and offering workable solutions in record time. Her open, unassuming and down to earth approach works across communication barriers and personalities, and she easily integrates with our various in house teams. She is highly efficient, self motivated and completely reliable and I highly recommend her and Map It Out.
Katharina Stanzel, MD, INTERTANKO
One of the best mapping tools I have seen. Words and data working together to show us what is happening (or too often what is not happening) ... will help us to build back better and fairer too.
Paul Brivio, Chief Executive, Active Oxfordshire
Thanks for making the final changes to the map I am really pleased with how it looks and it will be a great tool and asset for us.
