Mapping Deputy Gangs within the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
Andrés Guardado, 18. He attended Los Angeles Trade Technical College and worked two part-time jobs.
On June 18th, 2020 at 5:53 PM, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies (LASD) Miguel Vega and Christopher Hernandez claimed they saw Guardado flash a handgun. Guardado ran into an alley where he was shot five times in the back by Vega. Hernandez was present but did not fire his weapon. According to an eyewitness, Guardado was on his knees when Vega opened fire. All five shots were lethal, according to the coroner's report. Miguel Vega was trained by Eugene Contreras, a known member of an LASD deputy gang called the Compton Executioners. Based out of the Compton Sheriff Station, members are initiated after they are involved in a shooting. The initiation occurs during an "inking party" where the initiate receives a tattoo of a laughing skeleton holding an AK-47, wearing a military helmet, and surrounded by flames. Women and African Americans are not allowed to become members. Whistleblower LASD Deputy Art Gonzalez of Compton Sheriff Station testified at a deposition that Vega and Hernandez aspired to become members of the Executioners.
Former deputy Mizrain Orrego's Executioner tattoo. Orrego and his partner Samuel Aldama murdered Donta Taylor, 31, of Compton, in 2016. Aldama admitted to having negative feelings toward African Americans while under oath. In 2016, the year he murdered Taylor, Aldama earned $194,437. He is still employed with the LASD.
