Envisioning Ferndale’s Future
(September 2024 – June 2025)
The City of Ferndale is updating its Comprehensive Plan and partnering with Western Washington University’s Urban Planning & Sustainable Development program to conduct an analysis and conceptual designs for future development in the city over the next 50 years. Ferndale residents are invited to participate in by attending meetings and completing surveys.

The WWU Urban Planning Studio has split into groups to conduct an analysis on the various layers of Ferndale's urban growth and urban reserve areas. The layers of analysis are land use, the environment, housing, economics, infrastructure, social, and connectivity. The posters presented at the community kick-off meeting are posted below.
