A medium sized bird that is slightly smaller than a Northern Mockingbird, the Cassin Kingbird has a distinct white throat and lemon-yellow belly. The wings and tail are a light brown and its head is gray. The bill is straight and appears heavy, making great for catching insects in flight.
Cassin’s Kingbird are regular nighttime singers and are often mistaken for nightjars and other birds that come out at night.
