Il Grande Ferro R

In1990 Alberto Burri (1915-1995) created a great monumental sculpture, commissioned by Raul Gardini.

The Grande Ferro R is currently located in front of the “Mauro de André” Palace of Arts and Sports, and has a symbolic meaning; by exploiting the suggestions of a theatrical scene, the sculpture emphasizes the relationship between Ravenna and the sea.

The whole complex, commissioned by the Ferruzzi S.p.A., which had reache the height of its success in the nineties, is now owned by the city, after the failure of the financial and business group of Ravenna.
