The Petroglyphs
An ancient art gallery in our back yard
The Petroglyphs are an awesome thing. You get to see how people from over 700 years ago expressed their religion, thoughts and impressions of their surroundings, and day to day life. Also some even date back to 2000 B.C even. The Navajo, Spanish, and the Apache we know carved the ones more recent. Their populations grew around the Albuquerque area and so some started to move out west where they unlocked their inner Picasso on some really old lava rock.
With beautiful sites like the ones above we get to see glorious desert scenes. Also if you look below which New Mexico scene do you like more than the other.
Also petroglyphs are not just in West Albuquerque they are also in Three Rivers New Mexico.
Three Rivers Petroglyphs
Three Rivers Petroglyphs as you can see in the map if you zoom in are in Southern New Mexico, East of Ruidoso. I personally think this site has the best views like the ones below the map.
