Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway

The Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway, or known locally as "The Greenway", is a linear park that stretches from Mansell Road in the south to Union Hill Park in the North, parallel to Big Creek. The Greenway was initially conceived of in the 1980s, with the latest portion of the Greenway being completed 2-3 years ago. There are plans to connect the Alpharetta Greenway to Forsyth County's Portion of the Greenway to allow for the enjoyment of nature by citizens and visitors alike.

North Point

The North Point Entrance to the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway is located off North Point Parkway and contains restroom facilities, a bike aid station, and a picnic table.

North Point

There are also unpaved Pedestrian Trails at the North Point Greenway Access Point.

Rock Mill Park

Rock Mill Park contains an access point to the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway. The park also contains a wetland area, picnic tables, and places an emphasis on environmental consciousness.

Rock Mill Park

Rock Mill Park contains sufficient parking, even on busy days, to allow citizens and visitors of the city of Alpharetta to take advantage of The Greenway and the park.

YMCA

An access point to the Alpharetta Big Creek at the Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA is located next to the swimming pool and to the YMCA Entrance sign.

Marconi Drive

The Marconi Drive entrance to the Big Creek Greenway is located within minutes of Alpharetta's "Technology Corridor" at Windward Parkway in Northeast Alpharetta.

Marconi Drive

The Marconi Road access point to the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway initially contains moderate-to-steep terrain and is within proximity to an access point of the Mt. Adams Mountain Bike Trails.

The Grand Opening for the Marconi Drive Greenway access point was held on June 13, 2011 at this bridge.

Haynes Bridge Road

The Haynes Bridge Road access point to the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway is located across from the Alara North Point Complex.

Haynes Bridge Road

The Haynes Bridge Road access point to the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway is well-shadowed and connects to the main route of the Big Creek Greenway.

Alpharetta/Roswell City Line

The Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway Connects with the city of Roswell's Trail System to allow for mobility of citizens and visitors between the two cities. To allow further connectivity with nearby communities, there are also plans to connect the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway to Forsyth County's Greenway System.

Windward Underpass

The Greenway extension completed in May of 2021 depended on tunneling under Windward Parkway.

Bike Aid Stations

The city has provided Bike Aid Stations at the North Point Parkway Greenway access point and at Rock Mill Park in case a bike repair is required. The bicycle symbols on the map delineate the locations of Bike Aid Stations on the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway.

Rules and Regulations should be followed to ensure that everyone has a safe and rewarding trip at the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway.

The Alpharetta Greenway contains Call Boxes intermittently throughout the trail in case of an emergency.

The Alpharetta Police Department routinely patrols the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway to ensure that all visitors and citizens have a safe and rewarding trip.
