Existing Trailhead Looking Northeast Toward 5 Locks Walk

The proposed trail will connect with the 5 Locks Walk at this location. Salvaged mill stones from the site will be used on the proposed trail as wayfinding signage, as shown in the second photo above.

The proposed trail surface will be stone dust and runs along the edge of Depew Road. An example of a stone dust trail is shown in the third photo above.

At this location, a cairn is proposed to act as a trail marker, indicating a curve in the trail. An example of a potential cairn to be used is shown in the third photo above.

A proposed crosswalk and mill stone marker will indicate the direction of the trail across Berme Road, leading to the historic Kiln structure.

Access to Rosendale Kiln

A stairway is proposed at this location, providing access to the historic Rosendale Cement Kiln. An example illustrating the proposed stairway is shown in the second photo above.

Wayfinding signage will be placed along the trail to identify site features and trail direction.

The proposed trail run parallel to an existing towpath on private property along Rondout Creek.

Proposed Trail Segment Looking towards intersection of Berme Road and Route 213

A proposed crosswalk across Route 213 will provide a connection to the existing creek trail on the south bank of Rondout Creek. Trail signage will be used to indicate the connection.

Proposed Pocket Park and Trailhead Area

A pocket park is proposed at the corner of Berme Road and Route 213 to provide an area for passive recreation. Salvaged boulders and an existing stone wall will be used as seating (as shown in the third photo above).

Proposed Trail along Route 213 looking East

This segment of the trail includes a proposed guiderail, acting as a buffer between vehicular traffic and trail users. There is access to the Creekside Trail across Route 213 at this location.

Proposed Connection to Grady Park

The proposed trail will also provide a connection to Grady Park on the south side of Route 213.

The Town of Marbletown is currently undertaking an improvement project at Grady Park; the concept plan for which is presented above.
