Cornwall State of the AONB Report 2021
Introduction
In 2007, the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) pioneered the first landscape monitoring project in the UK. In 2021 the project entered its third phase of landscape monitoring to form important evidence for the latest AONB Management Plan 2022-2027 . The Cornwall AONB Atlas 2021 has been developed to support this latest phase of the project alongside the latest Cornwall State of the AONB Report (2021) .
In order to understand trends impacting on the AONB over time, available data and information has been collected and analysed against a number of ‘monitoring indicators’. These indicators are grouped under 11 themes of relevance to the AONB designation and the management of the protected landscape. Detailed findings are presented in the accompanying State of the AONB Report . This AONB Atlas has been developed to present available mapped information against the same 11 themes and indicators.
