Land Use Map:

Physical Geography Connections: The city planted trees and flowers for families and shaped the physical land so that it can cooperate with families homes. Also flat ground made it easier to build roads. The roads leading into the area make the neighborhood extremely accessible. There is alot of green space which is used for parks, walk ways for families to enjoy and there is also a pond. The pond was preserved so that meant the neighborhood was built around it. This area is also setteled on limestone rock wich is sedimentry this rock can make it more difficult for people to build pools ect so that why there might be more above ground pool the below ground pools the climate but the lake effect can produce more snow in kingston then other cities.
Urban Issues: Urban issues in the area include encroachment of housing on animal land and high energy consumption. Encroachment is when a property owner invades land to extend or add to the owners house and in this case it's on animals habitats which affects the animals in the neighborhood by using the land that the animals feed on. Builders are building houses on animal land and the animals will have no room to have a habitat and will cram species into a more condensed area so there would be wild animals roaming around . High energy consumption is also a really significant concern in the neighborhood. The energy can pollute the air or water around the neigborhood and the emissions can also contribute climate change concerns. elecricity and laundry machine they burn fossil fuels wich you cannot renew and it relaeases gasses into air wich makes the earth more warmer and that also contributes to climate change using slot of energy and by using the energy the prices go up financially
Redevelopment Plan:
Cataraqui North
You could reduce energy consumption in the neighborhood by unplugging your electronics when there not being used to not wast electricity. Also, you don't have to have every light on in your home, and not use lighting during the daytime. You could also switch to solar energy or solar power. To avoid animal encroachment you could build in areas where there aren't animals or species living so that you don't effect their habitat and not invade another species habitat and you could also watch out because you might not be aware that there is a habitat beside you house and you decide to expand you affect animals and also when you do expand you also you energy so you also could reduce energy consumption by not expanding the house.
