Owner Dave Morgan and the Singlespeed team consulted with the Iowa Green Brewery Certification (IGBC) throughout the entire restoration of an abandoned Wonder Bread factory, opening in 2017. Their certification was earned, in part, for their installation of Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, as well as Food waste initiatives in place.

Textiles puts a large emphasis on energy efficiency, being one of only a handful of Iowa breweries with solar power. The entire south-facing roof of the building has been outfitted with a Photo Voltaic solar array, helping to offset the brewery's energy usage and costs. The brewery has also been designed using almost entirely repurposed materials that were originally in the building. Textile becomes the 29th brewery in Iowa to earn a Green Brewery Certification.
