202 Street Area, South of 48 Ave, Utility Replacements 

The City will replace utilities in the 202 Street Area, South of 48 Ave. The project will consist of the following:

·      Replacement of aging watermains and services South of 48 Avenue 

·      Replacement of aging storm sewer and services South of 48 Avenue    

·      Road repaving and traffic calming for Neighbourhood Bikeway connection to trails

This project is expected to cost approximately $3M and is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2023 - Fall 2023.

Federal Government Gas Tax Funding: $272,000

Traffic Signal Projects

The City is planning to upgrade and place new traffic signals in various locations. The project will consist of the following:

·      Fraser Hwy at 200 Street

·      Fraser Hwy at 204 Street

·      Fraser Hwy at 208 Street

·      56 Avenue at Langley-by-Pass

·      New traffic signal on 208 Street at 45A Avenue

The 5 signals project is expected to cost approximately $750k and is tentatively scheduled to be completed by Spring 2024 .

Downtown Cycling Enhancements 

In partnership with TransLink, the City will improve bike lane connectivity through downtown Langley with a new protected cycling facility, along 203 St, Douglas Cr and 204 St. The project will consist of the following:

·      Improvements to enhance comfort and safety for users at the existing Glover Road Protected Bike Lanes and 203 Street Protected Bike Lanes

·     Connection between the Glover Road and 204 Street Protected Bike Lanes at Douglas Crescent and Glover Road

This project is expected to cost approximately $350k and is tentatively scheduled for May - Fall 2023.

Fraser Hwy Bike Lane Upgrade Project

The City will complete cycling improvements on Fraser Highway and Old Yale Road (20800 Block). The project will consist of:

·      Street level bike lanes on Fraser Hwy from Langley Bypass to Old Yale Rd. 

This project is tentatively scheduled for 2024 and the cost is to be determined.

56 Avenue Water, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Replacement 

The City will replace water, storm and sanitary utilities on 56 Avenue from 200 Street to 203 Street. The project will consist of:

·      Replacement of aging water and storm mains and services between 200 Street and 203 Street

·      Upgrade existing Traffic Signal on 56 Avenue at 201A Street   

This project is expected to cost approximately $4M and is tentatively scheduled for Summer 2023 - Winter 2023.

49 Avenue Utilities Replacement 

The City will replace utilities on 49 Avenue from 196 Street to 200 Street. The project will consist of:

·      Replacement of aging water mains and services between 196 Street and 200 Street 

·      Drainage improvements

·      Road rehabilitation completed with sidewalk and traffic calming measures 

This project is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2023 - Spring 2024.

Fraser Highway One Way Public Realm Project

The City is planning to complete utility and surface work improvements between 204 Street and 206 Street. The project will consist of:

·      Replacement of aging water and sewer mains and services between 204 Street and 206 Street 

·      Undergrounding BC Hydro Transmission Infrastructure between 204 Street and 206 Street  

·      Widening of pedestrian walkways

·      Surface Works includes paving, concrete curbs, concrete sidewalks, streetlights, tree planting, shrub planting, benches, tables, electrical, irrigations, grass etc.

This project is expected to cost approximately $18M which is tentatively scheduled for January 2024 - Summer 2024.

McBurney Plaza Wood Deck Replacement

The City will replace the wood decking at McBurney Plaza.  

This project is expected to cost approximately $350k which is tentatively scheduled for September 2023 - December 2023.
