Laker Effect Map - Public

Showcasing where Grand Valley State University is making a difference and who is leading the way.

The Laker Effect  is the collective impact of the Grand Valley State University community on individual students, West Michigan, our state and beyond.

The Laker Effect Map showcases where this impact is happening based on the actual locations that GVSU faculty and staff maintain important partnerships and relationships in the communities we serve.

The Laker Effect Map provides GVSU faculty and staff with a new way to connect to one another in order to better serve the communities we are a part of and the students who come to Grand Valley in search of opportunities. This map is a reflection of the locations where GVSU faculty/staff hold partnerships.

The Purpose

The Laker Effect Map is intended to recognize the established relationships and partnerships that GVSU faculty and staff have with our community partners.

Two major goals of the map are to:

  • communicate that GVSU is a highly engaged and well connected institution to current and future students
  • facilitate internal conversations and make it easier to connect with the GVSU "keeper(s) of the partnership" for introductions and collaboration opportunities
