Check out San Diego's Startup Ecosystem of incubators, accelerators and coworking spaces that are supporting the next great breakthroughs. Incubators and accelerators both grow early-stage businesses, connect founders with mentors and position their businesses to attract venture capital. But incubators typically help founders develop their disruptive ideas and build out a business model to launch companies. Accelerator programs often begin with an application process, and provide selected startups with small seed investment and access to a sizeable mentorship network (industry experts, venture capitalize, business developers, etc.) in exchange for a percentage of the company's equity. Accelerator programs often have a set timeframe of weeks to months of intense collaboration between the startup and the mentorship group.
