Tunnel Excavation was completed and concrete lining of the tunnel is underway. Once complete, the tunnel will be approximately 30 feet in diameter for 3 miles, 35 feet in diameter for 2 miles and designed to carry a maximum flow of nine million gallons per minute. This provides exponential relief from flooding during large rain events. The tunnel will have six intake sites along the alignment.

White Rock Creek at Barber Avenue
Street work is complete at this site, but construction on the outfall structure is not set to complete until 2026.
Site A - Fair Park
Intersection of Bank Street and Herndon Drive
Street work is completed at this site Dewatering Station construction is in progress.
Site C - Peaks Branch at I-30 Intake
Intersection of E R L Thornton Freeway (I-30) and South Hill Avenue
Street work is partially completed and concrete lining of the Lateral is in progress.
Site D - Buckner Park
Intersection of North Carroll Avenue and Victor Street
Street work on Gaston Avenue and Shaft excavation at the intersection of N Carroll Avenue and Victor Street was completed.
Site E - Haskell Ave./Ross Ave.
Intersection of San Jacinto Street and Apple Street
Intake Structure construction and the Shaft concrete lining is in progress.
Site F - Woodall Rodgers Fwy
