KEY CHARACTERISTICS

Located in the heart of Arroyo Seco, between two enormous mountain ranges: Gabilan Mountain Range to the East, Santa Lucia Mountain Range to the West. Rancho Tierra is wide open to the elements, nothing to block the wind and fog making its way down the region. The Blue Grand Canyon keeps the ocean temperatures below 55 degrees and as a result daily temperatures are lower allowing the grapes to hang longer on the vine.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

Located on the East side of The Salinas Valley at a higher elevation, these vineyards are enjoy the warmer, hotter, afternoon sun. As the wind picks up and fog rolls down the valley, it makes for ideal growing conditions for Chardonnay.  Warm bright sun with cool ocean breezes allows the grapes to produce more citrus fruit profiles and often with racy acidity.
