Discover Sea Mills Recreation Ground
Space for the Community

'The Rec' is a small open space tucked away in the heart of the Sea Mills ‘Garden Suburb’ created in 1936 as a healthy living environment for the community.
For finding your calm, for the kids at football training, to achieve your 10,000 steps, to walk the dog, to catch up with neighbours, to enjoy a Tai Chi session or for foraging for fruit – it’s a go-to space for local healthy living.
Conversations with park users show it is a special place. A Space for the Community.

A Neighbourhood Park for Sea Mills

Sea Mills Rec is a vital multifunctional green space for the wider neighbourhood of Sea Mills. Although located in an almost rural setting, the Rec is the only local, accessible flat open space enabling a broad range of community, sporting and event activities.
There is access to the park through the historic entrances at all four corners and there are good views of local landmarks from the northern end.
Our vision is for investment that will build on and expand the existing activities in the site and grow community activity and ownership. Investment should deliver healthy living opportunities and enhance experiences with nature.
