A Brief Introduction:
Konoha, located on a peninsula in the northwest of Sardinia, is a merchant town heavily influenced by both the Euro-African trade of the Mediterranean and by the Catholics who often use it as a “last stop” on the way to their Crusades. It is an always bustling town with a large religious community, and a large marketplace making up the entire south end of the town. The geographic location makes it perfect for trade between the two continents, and merchants from all over Africa and Europe flock to its marketplace to take place in the large trade scene.
Konoha is heavily fortified and easily protected due to its large perimeter wall, hilly terrain, and seaside cliffs. With many Knights in town constantly, the Catholic Church can protect Konoha diligently, and often keeps tight restrictions on who can and cannot enter to main part of town.
Konoha also contains an inn for visitors with a pasture for livestock nearby. There is a tavern for socialization and a town hall for gatherings. Residents have access to multiple agricultural fields for growing food for themselves as well.

Religious Influence:
The town is practically run by the local Bishop, who oversees most of the town's doings, and he controls the town's income. A main site of Konoha is the large Cathedral on top of the hill in the west of town that overlooks all of Konoha. There is plenty of religious housing on the west side as well, including a barracks-esque building used for the passing Knights on their way to the Crusades. This separation of religious housing from the secular allows the religious to follow the Catholic teachings of living solely amongst themselves. Much of the taxed trade in Konoha funds the Catholic Church's doings, including the Crusade missions being sent out. There is also a Catholic School in the heart of the residential area for all to attend.
Residential Life:
Konoha is great place to live for its residents due to mainly two things: Protection due to the Knights, and low taxes due to the town's income from taxing trade. Many who live here are Catholic due to the Churches influence. The poorer area of residence blocks is in the southeast section of the residential area, due to the vicinity of the foreign markets, red light district, butcher, and garbage dump area. The nicer residential areas are more north and central to town. There is also a residential dock in the northeast for all the residents to freely use.
The Marketplace and Trade:
The main staple of Konoha is its large marketplace. It is used by merchants from all over the Mediterranean and constantly packed full of vendors. There is a manmade canal separating the marketplace from the main part of town, and its used not only as a physical barrier, but also as a way to stock goods to the warehouses on the canal shore. Residents are permitted to shop here, however due to the general dislike of foreigners and foreign trade at the time, Konoha also has a smaller marketplace in the mainland part of town used exclusively by residents. Taxed trade from here makes up most of Konoha's economy.
