Biodiversity Program

A community-science based initiative to document flora and fauna in Nosara and inspire living in balance with nature

Biodiversity Monitoring Program

Bird Diversity in Nosara

We were pleasantly surprised to find a diversity of exciting bird species, even in more developed areas. These make Nosara an attractive destination for bird watching and show the importance of maintaining a balance with nature as the area continues to develop.

Join the initiative

Explore the  Nosara Civic Association's nature trails , observe wildlife right around your home and submit your own observations of local flora and fauna through the iNaturalist app or web platform!

Check out the Nosara Biodiversity Project page on iNaturalist to compete with other community members for a spot on our list of top observers. You can also see live-updates of the most recent observations in the area.

How to Make an Observation on iNaturalist using our Mobile App

Sponsor a camera trap

Every $500 raised will allow us to install, monitor, and maintain an additional camera trap to monitor wildlife in the area and continue our surveys. All photos are added to iNaturalist so you can stay updated on our latest observations.
