Climate change will influence the way Wisconsinites and visitors interact with our state's diverse natural areas. WICCI's Tourism and Outdoor Recreation working group is focused on studying climate change's impact on our state and relay this information to the public and industry. Previous efforts include investigating overall climatic changes and potential challenges through the Working Group Report and active research with key stakeholders in the recreation industry, like downhill skiing . An updated working group report based on the latest scientific knowledge and projections for Wisconsin is expected in 2026. Additional research will also be conducted and made available to the public to help identify strategies for adapting to changing conditions. Finally, the Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Working Group aims to create more localized and practical adaptation strategies to be utilized by industry and recreators alike.
