Backyard Buffers - Baltimore County
Who: Baltimore County Community Members with waterway on property or adjacent.
What: Participating land owners of the Backyard Buffers program receives a free “buffer in a bag” to help get homeowners started in buffering the stream side. The bag includes 20-30 native tree and shrub bare-root seedlings, approximately 1 to 2 feet in height.
Land owners will be responsible for maintaining the trees and shrubs.

Backyard Trees - Baltimore County
Who: Baltimore County Community Members with less than an acre.
What: Participating community members who do not have an acre or more to plant. Provided 20 trees(one-tenth of an acre) to 145 trees (three-fourths of an acre) will be planted by County-selected contractors.
Property owners will be responsible for maintaining the trees and reporting their survival to EPS.

Turf to Trees - Baltimore County
Who: Baltimore County Community Members with more than an acre.
What: Participating community members with the opportunity of rural reforestations of one acre or larger. Approximately 200 trees planted per acre spaced 15 feet apart.
Trees are maintained by County-selected contractors for first three years of maintenance. To ensure long-term survival, the County will monitor and may conduct maintenance after the contractor maintenance period.

Baltimore Tree Trust - Baltimore City
Who: Baltimore City Community Members.
What: Participating community members apply via website to request trees to be planted in their neighborhood or land owners. Trees will be planted by Baltimore Tree Trust volunteers and partners.
When: Baltimore Tree Trust will plant trees throughout the spring and fall.
Neighborhoods and Land owners will be responsible for maintaining the trees.

Stream ReLeaf - Howard County
Who: Howard County Community Members with waterway on property or adjacent.
What: Participating community members must order a minimum of 12 trees and/or shrubs must be ordered to participate in the program.
When: The County will deliver trees to the homeowner’s property in the spring and fall.
Land owners will be responsible for maintaining the trees and shrubs.

Turf to Trees - Howard County
Who: Howard County community members property owners with lots of 1.5 to 10 acres in size.
What: Land owners must commit to receiving and maintaining a minimum of 50 trees.

Who: Howard County Community Members with waterway on property or adjacent.
What: The Backyard Buffer program, provides Anne Arundel County land owners with trees and shrubs to create a native woodland buffer to waterways.
Land owners will be responsible for maintaining the trees and shrubs.

Marylanders Plant Trees - Maryland
Who: Maryland community members and organizations.
What: Get a coupon worth $25 off the purchase of one new tree from any of the 86 participating nurseries with a retail value of $50.

Healthy Forests, Healthy Waters - Baltimore County
Who: Baltimore County Community Members with more than an acre.
What: Providing participating community members with a free, turnkey tree planting project of an acre or more on open land that they want to convert into a forest.
Landowners agree to maintain this new forest for at least ten years.

Right Tree, Right Place Program - Prince George’s County
Who: Prince George’s County Community Members, Homeowner’s and Civic Associations.
What: The program only works with street trees (trees that are in the public right-of-way) — removing and replacing those trees with trees built to survive and thrive in that particular environment

Tree Trooper Program - Anne Arundel County
Tree Troopers are the volunteer leaders of Replant Anne Arundel’s planting efforts.
Receive customized version of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay’s Tree Stewards Training, specific to Anne Arundel County.
The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay will conduct the training with support from Watershed Stewards Academy.

Tree ReLeaf Grant Program - Prince George’s County
Who: Prince George’s County Community Members, Groups, and Municipalities.
What: Through the Tree ReLEAF Grant Program the County provides funds for planting native trees and shrubs in public or private common areas.

Arbor Day Everyday - Prince George’s County
Who: Prince George’s County Schools.
What: Arbor Day Every Day provides free trees for schools to plant and maintain on school grounds, and provides funds for planting projects.
When: The County will deliver trees to the homeowner’s property in the spring and fall.
