East Riding PCNs

Working alongside ERY ICS, we have compiled and analysed a range of place-based data to show spatial trends within PCNs.

2023 Update:  Since the documents on this page were produced, a number of practices have merged and as a result changed PCN. GPs within the Pocklington area have opted to be part of a PCN within the Vale of York structures. These changes will be reflected in future work displayed on this page, however the current documents shown were produced before these changes were made.

Introduction

The aim of this StoryMap is to help support the PCNs in identifying their areas of health inequality, however it will not (nor can it) identify all areas of inequality. The StoryMap and Place Analysis documents have not been written to make specific recommendations, but to highlight some potential areas of further investigation.

In order to investigate demand on council and partner services, East Riding LSOAs were ranked based on data from various sources including number of Lifeline callouts, indices of deprivation, claimant count, households in arrears, fire & rescue callouts and A&E attendances. Each indicator was scored, the scores then aggregated to form an overall LSOA score, and it was these overall scores that were ranked and displayed in the "Overall Service Demand" map layer. The ranks are from 1 (least demanding LSOA) to 210 (most demanding LSOA).

This mapping work was combined with public health analysis to form a Place Analysis pack for each PCN (see "Downloads").

This StoryMap provides key highlights from each PCN's document in its own dedicated section, each referring to the data found in the following map. For a more in-depth view into the PCNs, please download the relevant documents from the "Downloads" section.

Click and drag to navigate the map, zoom in using your mouse scroll wheel or + and - buttons at the bottom right of the map screen. Click on an LSOA (coloured green to red) to show a pop-up detailed some characteristics of that LSOA. Each indicator is scored out of 10 with 10 being "highest demand".
